Gujarat get Kohli, but AB carries Bangalore to final

Trust the Royal Challengers Bangalore batting machine to pull the team out of the woods. Time and again, their batsmen have come up with splendid knocks, clinched stunning wins. On Tuesday, against Gujarat Lions in the first qualifier, it was AB de Villiers. The South African single-handedly took RCB to the final, their third, to be played here on Sunday.

After being put inm Gujarat scored 158 and RCB came up with 159 for six in 18.2 overs. De Villiers scored an unbeaten 79 (47 balls) and his seventh-wicket stand of 91 with Iqbal Abdulla (33 no, 25 balls) saw the team home.

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium is used to tall scores. RCB have been devastating on this wicket. But on Tuesday at one point it looked like they were going to end up on the losing side. Virat Kohli was out without scoring and so was KL Rahul. Chris Gayle contributed nine. With Dhawal Kulkarni doing the damage, the home team was tottering at 29 for five.
