STAR KHILADI, NETA ANADI!

It was supposed to be a thriller, but it turned out to be a comedy . The high-sounding name given to the event -High Voltage Football Match, Football for Nation, Football Ka Mahamuqabla -provided very few nail-biting moments, because from the start, the Bollywood team was in control. The actors routed the Members of Parliament 10-0 in the match held at JLN stadium, Delhi on Sunday evening. But Delhi didn't care either way . They'd turned up to see Ranbir Kapoor playing football, and the star totally rocked his performance as a winger too.

The MPs were led by Babul Supriyo, with Manoj Tiwari as his deputy . While Abhishek Bachchan was supposed to be skipper of the All Stars Football Club, he was happy playing the manager's role. Supriyo said, “When I was in Mumbai, I used to hit the gym at least thrice a week. Now you can see that I am almost the shape of the football that we will be kicking around!“ He joked, “The actors are fitter, but I have told them to show some respect to those working for this country and not score too many goals. I have tried to bribe the referees and also did some jaadu-tona at the opponent's goal post!“ As the match began, the ball hardly left the Parliamentarians' half. The MPs were no match for the actors, who showed great skill, stamina and coordination. The strikers and midfielders -Ranbir, Dino Morea, Shabir Ahluwalia, Sachin Joshi, and Karan Veer Mehra -continued to net one after the other, while the MPs looked helpless as they panted after small sprints. But the man wearing the RK jersey stole the show. He ran, tumbled, got up, dribbled the ball, scored goals, celebrated with teammates... and the whole stadium reverberated with chants of `Ranbir, Ranbir'.Everyone wanted to get a closer look at the superstar who scored five goals.
