Historic pact today

In a historical event of sorts Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis would sign a pact on Tuesday at Mumbai enabling Telangana to go ahead with the construction of barrages on Godavari River.

The agreement would be signed by both the Chief Ministers in the presence of an official from Centre, irrigation ministers and officials of both states. The agreement would pave the way for the construction of Medigadda Barrage, the key element of Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation project on Godavari. The government stated that the signing of agreement became a possibility as the Telangana state has established cordial relations with the neighboring states unlike the previous regimes which followed the confrontationist attitude.
